Federico Adrodegari, T-REX researcher at the University of Brescia (UNIBS), presented the paper “A BUSINESS MODEL APPROACH TO SERVITIZATION: DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW TYPOLOGY” at the Spring Servitization Conference 2015 (http://www.aston.ac.uk/aston-business-school/research/events/ssc2015/) which took place in Aston Business School (Birmingham - UK) in May 18^th-19^th during the session “Business Models”.

Federico Adrodegari and Andrea Alghisi, T-REX researchers at the University of Brescia (UNIBS), presented main results about the application cases of the T-REX project and the new business model typology developed during the project at the workshop “COME RENDERE VINCENTI LE STRATEGIE DI SERVIZIO? – Evidenze dal mondo dei beni strumentali” (How to develop successful service strategies?) which took place in Brescia (Italy) in April 9th held by the ASAP Service Management Forum.

PREST is an annual conference organised by Euskatel Basque country Telecommunications Company for the Small to Medium-size Enterprises to generate a space for encounter and connection with the purpose of learning and reflect on new ideas, new opportunities, and new trends (http://www.euskaltel.com/CanalOnline/integracion/prest14/index.html ).

On this year PREST 14 conference was supported by ADEGI employers’ association of the province of Gipuzkoa within the slogan “add to grow”, and the focus was set on strategic business alliances. Consortium partners of the T-REX project recently gathered at FIDIA in Turin, Italy, from 23^rd to 25^th March 2015 for their Mid-Term Review Meeting to share results and update everyone on the progress made so far towards achieving the project objectives. As the project is half way to its completion there were high expectations from the Project Technical Adviser, Prof. Koorosh Khodabandehloo, appointed from the European Commission as an external reviewer. The main developments presented covered all aspects, from business modelling innovation at management level to redesigning of existing products and services at production level, and to realization and first validation of use case demonstrators in the machine tool, transportation and robotic market sectors.

We dedicated this newsletter to present the new service solution of Condition based Maintenance (CbM) for machine tool electro-spindles developed by IMATECNO for FIDIA machines (both companies are part of T-REX consortium).

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has organized a meeting about maintenance processes. The activity was part of CEN/TC 319 which deals with standardization in the area of maintenance (http://standards.cen.eu/dyn/www/f?p=204:7:0::::FSP_ORG_ID:6300&cs=1A64AA79FCFDE906561AFDA09269B3123).

The meeting took place at the German town Eppelheim (close to Heidelberg) from 9th to 10th of March 2015. It was hosted by Professor Lennart Brumby from the DHBW Eppelheim. On behalf of the T-REX project, Thomas Meiren (Fraunhofer IAO) participated in the meeting.

Aitor Arnaiz was invited to the 2015 CIRP winter meetings celebrated in Paris from 18^th to 20^th February. In particular, he was one of the 3 speakers at the Collaborative Working Group of Continuous Maintenance, where T-REX project was presented in the light of a presentation referred to Integrated Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems (IVHM).

The spanish Quality Association (AEC) organised in December 3^rd and 4^th the 14^th RAMS congress.

IK4-TEKNIKER has supported the congress, and participated with two different presentations related to their know-how in ‘predictive maintenance’. Aitor Arnaiz, in particular, made a presentation on ‘condition based maintenance, a review on process and technologies for data capture and analysis’ were T-REX Project, and in particular the Solution for ULMA fork-lift trucks was presented as an example of distributed PdM system.
