T-REX participation in 3rd CEN TC 319 meeting about maintenance processes

The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has organized a meeting about maintenance processes. The activity was part of CEN/TC 319 which deals with standardization in the area of maintenance (http://standards.cen.eu/dyn/www/f?p=204:7:0::::FSP_ORG_ID:6300&cs=1A64AA79FCFDE906561AFDA09269B3123).

The meeting took place at the German town Eppelheim (close to Heidelberg) from 9th to 10th of March 2015. It was hosted by Professor Lennart Brumby from the DHBW Eppelheim. On behalf of the T-REX project, Thomas Meiren (Fraunhofer IAO) participated in the meeting.

The main objective of the meeting was the discussion and refinement of a process framework for maintenance. In particular, this should help to provide a common understanding of typical maintenance activities and to align maintenance tasks of different providers. Moreover, the identification of process-related Key Performance Indicators (KPI) was part of the meeting.

In the words of Thomas Meiren "The participation in CEN TC 319 is a real win-win. On the one hand, T-REX can benefit from the wealth of experience of the CEN working group. On the other, CEN has the opportunity to reflect current R&D results of the T-REX project."
